- The U. S. Food and Drug Administration is
warning consumers not to use Merrick Beef Filet Squares
for dogs distributed by Merrick Pet Care with a package
date of "Best By 111911" because the product
may be contaminated with Salmonella. more

Merrick
now recalls all lots of 2 pet-food products - Merrick
Pet Care on Friday announced that it is expanding its
recall to all lots of the 10-ounce packs of its Beef
Filet Squares for dogs and Texas Hold'ems pet treats over
a concern that the products may be contaminated with salmonella.
The company said no illnesses linked to the recalled products
have been reported.more

halts pet-food production to find salmonella source - Procter & Gamble
has put on hold pet-food production at its facility in
Lewisburg, Ohio, as it searches for
the source of a salmonella contamination that prompted
recalls of Iams veterinary dry formulas and Eukanuba Naturally
Wild, Pure and Custom Care Sensitive Skin dry food. The
recalls are considered "precautionary," and no
pets have been reported sickened, said the company.more
